It doesn’t matter if you are a new student, new faculty, or a new staff member — on your first day at Stone you will be sorted into one of four Houses (Lee, Levengood, Monaghan, or Qualls) and thereafter you will spend time working within your House to build culture, to design House-aligned service projects, to win the annual House Championship (#YearOfLevengood). We task each of our Houses to work on the Four C’s — Competition, Culture, Care, and Challenge – because we believe great House culture drives great School culture.

Last week, Lee House worked together to transform Stone into “Camp Lee”. For about 24 hours, a Lee-themed campsite sat in the middle of our School; advisory meetings and student meeting and even small-group faculty meetings took place in tents; students played cornhole and jenga; a “campfire”...materialized, as did multiple sing-alongs (#JohnDenverFTW).

Everything we do begins with culture.

And sometimes ends with John Denver.
