Latest Stories About the Stone Community

🌶 With *Such* Thanks 🌶

Stone Community,

Today, I’m writing to share with you a piece of remarkable news: on Saturday evening, the 5th Annual Chili Cook-Off raised more than $42,500.00 – all in support of the Annual Fund, all in support of our institutional mission to remain need-blind forever.

It takes extraordinary partners to achieve such extraordinary success, and to that end I want to be sure to thank each of our sponsors – Urban Place, ProAsys, MJ Earl Inc, the Staszak Family, Karen Linder and Jim Blickle, JML Ingredients, the Do Family, Chas and Samantha Kurtz, the Stagg Family, Jeff and Areliz Cruz, Tranzact Inc, Kelly Whalen Brandsmith, and the Humbert Family – for their generous support of our students.

It also takes an extraordinary team.  I’m so thankful to each of the volunteers and all the chili makers who made this event possible and everyone who donated goods or services or experiences to the auction; specifically I’d like to thank the Chili Cook-Off Executive Committee – Tim and Elissa Keeler, Brian Lehman, Jacque Kacsmar-Bradley, Stef Heller, Tony Israel, Kelly Whalen, Laura Hall, and Claire Adams – for their tireless work behind the scenes.

It also takes an extraordinary community.  None of this success would be possible if our community wasn’t still aligned to that core belief which we have held sacred since our first day of school in 2017: that Stone must remain accessible to everyone.  We have been doing this work for six years now, and in those six years we have never turned anyone away for financial reasons – with your continued commitment and support of the Annual Fund, we never will.

With such gratitude,

Mike Simpson, Head of School
